Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #715.
My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.
First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,862,126 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 86,093,941 people worldwide.
Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to The Guardian, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have seized a South Korean vessel “for polluting the Persian Gulf with chemicals” amid rising tensions between Iran and the US during the final days of Donald Trump’s presidency. Iranian news agencies published photos showing Revolutionary Guards speedboats escorting the tanker MT Hankuk Chemi [HAN-KOOK CHEH-MEE]and said the vessel’s crewmembers, including nationals of South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar, had been detained. The tanker is being held at Iran’s Bandar Abbas [BUN-DAAR UHB-BAHS] port city. South Korea’s foreign ministry demanded the vessel’s immediate release and said South Korean forces stationed in the strait of Hormuz had been dispatched to the area. On Monday Iran resumed enriching uranium to up to 20% purity, a significant breach of the 2015 nuclear accord, reducing the time it would take to reach weapons-grade level. The move, which Iran notified the UN nuclear watchdog about last week, was one of many mentioned in a law passed by Iran’s parliament last month in response to the killing of the country’s top nuclear scientist, which Tehran has blamed on Israel.
Third, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to The Jerusalem Post, Israeli media reported several suspects approached the Lebanese border on Friday evening and escaped after IDF troops fired warning shots to the air. The incident took place as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah are relatively high. The IDF expects that Hezbollah has not given up its intention of avenging the death of one of its operatives in Syria during a July airstrike attributed to Israel. At around the same time as the incident on the Lebanese border took place, another unusual incident happened in the southern part of the country, when a suspect reportedly infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip. The suspect was arrested by IDF troops and was interrogated.
Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.
Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.
Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 10: The Believer’s Crowns, Part 5” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”
The crown of rejoicing. First Thessalonians 2:19 indicates that there is a special soul-winner’s crown for those individuals who have led people to faith in Christ. Paul was such an individual. The people to whom he spoke were his “crown of rejoicing” because he had led them to Christ and taught them in the faith. Note that this is called the crown of rejoicing, keeping in mind that the angels in heaven rejoice when a sinner comes to faith. In the light of eternity, soul winning is the most important thing in the world. All our busy activity and the things of this earth pale into insignificance in the light of eternity, for in that day the things of the world will be burned up and forgotten, and only what’s done for Christ will last.
Almost every church has faithful individuals whose greatest joy is leading people to Christ. They are a minority. They faithfully come out on “visitation night” to share their faith. They witness to those with whom they work, and they pray for God to use them in sharing the gospel. My (Tim’s) mother, who went to be with the Lord several years ago, was like that. In fact, when I visited her one week before she died, she asked me to pray for two things: “That the Lord will call me home soon, and that He will use me to lead one more soul to Him before I go.” She had her chance three days before she died. While serving as a crisis pregnancy hotline counselor (which she often did), she spoke with a 17-year-old pregnant girl who called in desperation for help. The girl was phone-patched to my mother’s home, where, after an hour’s conversation, she prayed to receive Christ. Not a bad legacy for my mother to leave her children and grandchildren!
Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.
In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 15). J.C. Ryle writes:
III. The third part of the text which I propose to dwell is, the future prospects of Israel.
In taking up this branch of my subject, I feel that I am entering on the region of unfulfilled prophecy. I desire to do so with all reverence, and with a deep sense of the many difficulties surrounding this department of theology, and the many diversities of opinion which prevail upon it. But the servant of God must call no man master on earth. Truth is never likely to be attained, unless all ministers of Christ speak out their opinions fully, freely, and unreservedly, and give men an opportunity of weighing what they teach.
If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:
First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.
Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
