PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled “The Winepress of the Wrath of God (Part 6)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future.”

The messages of the three angels are followed by a comment about the “perseverance of the saints” and a voice from heaven commanding John to write. It is difficult to tell who speaks in Rev. 14:12, but it appears to be a spontaneous and unsolicited remark by John himself, although it could be part of the third angel’s message. The comment involves a threefold observation regarding:

1. The perseverance of the saints
2. Those who keep the commandments of God
3. Those who have their faith in Jesus

OCCUPY TILL I COME: We are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. This section is titled, “Occupy Until I Come!” (Part 9) based on the parable of the nobleman who went away and left talents for his servants to use in his absence in Luke 19:11-13. J.C. Ryle writes:

The Lord Jesus during the present dispensation is like David between the time of His anointing and Saul’s death. He has the promise of the kingdom — but He has not yet received the crown and throne.

He is followed by a few, and those often neither great nor wise — but they are a faithful people. He is persecuted by His enemies, and ofttimes driven into the wilderness — and yet His party is never quite destroyed. But He has none of the visible signs of the kingdom at present — no earthly glory, majesty, greatness, obedience. The vast majority of mankind see no beauty in Him — they will not have this man to reign over them. His people are not honored for their Master’s sake: they walk the earth like princes in disguise. His kingdom is not yet come — His will is not yet done on earth excepting by a little flock. It is not the day of “His power.” The Lord Jesus is biding His time.
