PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled “Demons Unleashed (Part 3)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future.”

Satan is the epitome of selfishness. He was created for the purpose of glorifying God, but he has always desired too displace God and rule the universe himself. The Bible describes his selfishness when it expresses his five “I wills”: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation… I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”

OCCUPY TILL I COME: We are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. This section is titled, “Watch” (Part 12) based on the parable of the foolish and wise virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. J.C. Ryle writes:

Some tell us that the coming of the Son of Man often means death. No one can read the thousands of epitaphs in churchyards, in which some text about the coming of Christ is thrust in, and not perceive how widespread this view is.

Some tell us that our Lord’s coming means the destruction of Jerusalem. This is a very common way of interpreting the expression. Many find the literal Jerusalem everywhere in New Testament prophecies — though, oddly enough, they refuse to see it in the Old Testament prophecies, and, like Aaron’s rod, they make it swallow up everything else.
