PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled “From Tribulation to Jubilation (Part 7)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future.”
Heaven’s response to the multitudes who are saved during the Tribulation is overwhelming. The angels, creatures, and elders fall before the throne on their faces and worship God with a sevenfold doxology of praise which begins and ends with Amen and connects each element with “and”.
1. Blessing, 2. Glory, 3. Wisdom, 4. Thanksgiving, 5. Honor, 6. Power, 7. Might
The list is almost identical with the sevenfold praise of the Lamb in Revelation 5:12, with thanksgiving replacing riches. It is recorded as a spontaneous response, but it follows the pattern of symbolic numbers in the Apocalypse — seven representing completeness.
Thus, this chapter ends with all of heaven on its face before God. His sovereignty is extolled in His redemption of Israel and the Gentiles alike, just as it was extolled in His divine act of creation. What a powerful and beautiful picture!
‘OCCUPY TILL I COME’: This section is titled “Grace and Peace Be With You (Part 6)” from the book “Waiting on the Second Coming” by Ray C. Stedman.
It is noteworthy that where Paul refers to the public revelation of Jesus in 2 Thessalonians 2:8, he calls it “the splendor of his coming,” which literally means “the e-pi-pha-neia (the “outshining”) of his parousia (“presence”). But what happens to the church after it is caught up to meet the Lord in the air, as 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 describes? The answer of Scripture is “so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Wherever the Lord is, there the church will be also, sharing with Him in His work whatever it will be.
