Breaking Prophecy News; Where Are We Headed? Part 1 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #498)

PROPHECY HEADLINES: Technology experts anticipate “major” cyberattack resulting in many deaths or loss of billions of dollars | Abbas: Closure of Temple Mount a ‘declaration of war’ | Report: U.S. moves into ‘state of detente’ with Iran; could endanger regional alliances | Sweden extends official recognition to ‘State of Palestine’ | Israel to buy 25 more F-35 stealth fighters from U.S.

The Bible says in John 14:2-3: “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: “Where Are We Headed? (Part 1)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book, “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.

Critics of Bible prophecy have often characterized it as a message of “doom and gloom.” In reality, the prophetic message is one of doom and boom! It is both negative and positive. For the unbeliever, the bottom line is, “Bad news — you lose!” But for the believer, the bottom line is, “Good news — we win!”

Biblical history is always written from the divine perspective. The view-point of heaven supersedes that of earth. God sees the past, present, and future all at once. For Him, all things are in the present tense. He sees future events as though they were already happening. A perfect example of this is in the prediction of the virgin birth of Christ in Isaiah 7:14. The Hebrew text refers to the virgin as having already conceived. The translation should actually read: “Behold the pregnant virgin bearing a son.” The prophet sees this future event as though it were a present reality.

John the revelator sees the future as though it were happening before him. He records these events as he sees them unfold. Several key chronological terms indicate the progression of this revelation of future events. The include: “then,” “when,” “after this,” “immediately,” “another,” “and there followed,” and “after these things.”

The predominant term which keeps the book of Revelation constantly moving is the word “and” (the Greek word, “kai”). The term “kai” is used over 1,200 times in the Revelation and is generally translated “and,” although it also appears translated as “but,” “even,” “both,” “also,” “yet,” and “indeed.” The average reader does not realize that nearly every verse of the Apocalypse begins with “kai” (and). This phenomenon is known as “poly-syn-de-ton,” meaning “many ands.” These are used to bind together the numeric units of the Revelation in a pattern known as a “kaimeter.”

The prophetic passage of Scripture we are looking at today is Genesis 9:25-27 which reads: “And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.”

Our second coming quote for today is from Alexander Maclaren. He said, “The primitive church thought more about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ than about death or about heaven. The early Christians were looking not for a cleft in the ground called a grave but for a cleavage in the sky called Glory. They were watching not for the undertaker but for the uppertaker.”

Breaking Prophecy News; What is the Apocalypse All About? Part 2 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #497)

PROPHECY HEADLINES: Vatican entertains formation of ‘Global Covenant of World Religions’ touted by U.S. official in Rome | Jordan threatens to break peace treaty with Israel over Jewish settlements | Netanyahu: ‘Islamic extremists trying to burn down Jerusalem’ | Jordan to ask UN to discuss Israeli construction on behalf of Palestinians | Australia bans travel from Ebola-hit West Africa; U.S. isolates troops

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 4:5: “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”

PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: What is the Apocalypse All About? (Part 2)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book, “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.

The expectation of the Revelation points to the return of Christ. The risen Savior who appears to John on Patmos is the same One who returns with His triumphant Church at the end of the book. He who walks among the churches (lampstands) as our heavenly High Priest is the One who will take His Bride to reign and rule with Him in His Millennial Kingdom on earth. Everything in the Apocalypse points to the second coming of Christ.

David Hocking observes that the concept of our Lord’s soon return is emphasized seven times in the Revelation by the words “shortly” or “quickly”:

“Things which much shortly take place.”
“Repent therefore; or else I am coming to you quickly.”
“I am coming quickly.”
“The third woe is coming quickly.”
“And behold, I am coming quickly.”
“Behold, I am coming quickly.”
“Yes, I am coming quickly.”

The phrase “I am coming quickly” must refer either to “suddenly” or “shortly.” The first implies “speedily,” as in an instant (“like a thief in the night”). It indicates a rapid-fire sequence of events. The second meaning implies in a short period of time, as in “soon.” This focuses on the imminence of the events. Scholars are divided on how this should be interpreted. Robert L. Thomas believes that the events predicted by Daniel and foreseen by Christ now (after the resurrection) stood in readiness to be fulfilled. Thus, John could speak of them as imminent, though they still were yet to be fulfilled — the final aspect of which will occur suddenly.

Number of “great” earthquakes increases over last 10 years (Second Coming Watch Update #525)

2. Thousands of civilians on Sunday fled their homes in a battered district of northern Lebanon’s Tripoli, taking advantage of an informal truce in fighting between the army and Islamist militants.

3. The Obama administration offered a very mixed assessment of progress in the U.S.-led campaign to degrade and defeat the Islamic State, with no serious ground offensive against the militant group likely for at least a year and little sign that the effort to stanch its flow of money has succeeded.

4. Citing the country’s foreign intelligence agency, a German newspaper has reported that Islamic State militants in northern Iraq have modern portable air defense systems (MANPADS) that are capable of shooting down a passenger plane.

5. A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Western Greece early Saturday with no reports of victims or major damage. The tremor struck at 3:16 am, with its epicentre 12 miles from the western town of Arta.

The prophetic passage of Scripture we are looking at today is Genesis 8:21-22 which reads: “And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Our second coming quote for today is from Oswald Chambers. He said, “The only way to wait for the Second Coming is to watch that you do what you should do, so that when he comes is a matter of indifference. It is the attitude of a child, certain that God knows what he is about. When the Lord does come, it will be as natural as breathing. God never does anything hysterical, and he never produces hysterics.”

PROPHECY HEADLINES: U.S. officials: ‘Months’ before Iraqi Army is ready to take on ISIS | Israeli minister: ‘Crisis’ in U.S.-Israeli relations | European Rabbis want West to do more for ‘endangered’ Christians in the Middle East | N. Korea likely has capability to produce nuclear weapons, U.S. says | Israeli military working to uncover Hezbollah attack tunnels

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:52: “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: What is the Apocalypse All About? (Part 1)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book, “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.

The central theme of the Apocalypse is given in the title to the book. It is “the revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave Him to show to His bond-servant the things which must shortly take place.” Jesus Christ is the central theme of the Revelation. He is the most important key to understanding the book. He is both the author of the Revelation and the subject of it.

Jesus appears in chapter 1 as the glorified, risen Savior. In chapters 2-3, He is the Lord of the Church. In chapter 4-5, He is the Lamb of God. In chapters 6-11, He is the Judge of all mankind. In chapters 12-13, He is the miracle-born male child. In chapters 14-19, He is the coming King. In chapters 20-22, He is the Lord of heaven and earth.

The purpose of the book is to reveal the future. David Jeremiah observes: “The word ‘revelation’ means the disclosure of that which was previously hidden or unknown. The book of Revelation tells us that Jesus is coming again, how He is coming, and what the condition of the world will be when He comes.” The concept of revelation is that of unveiling a “mystery” which was previously unknown. Merrill Tenney states, “It was not written to mystify, but rather to explain the truth of God more clearly. For this reason, one should approach it with the expectation of learning, and not with the expectation of being confused.”

4. The Obama administration on Thursday offered a very mixed assessment of progress in the U.S.-led campaign to degrade and defeat the Islamic State, with no serious ground offensive against the militant group likely for at least a year and little sign that the effort to stanch its flow of money has succeeded.

5. Japan warned on Friday that a volcano in southern Japan located roughly 40 miles from a nuclear plant was showing signs of increased activity that could possibly lead to a small-scale eruption and warned people to stay away from the summit.

6. European Jewry is worried about the security of the Middle East’s Christian minority. Moscow-based Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, the president of the Conference of European Rabbis, said, Christians in the Middle East, besides those in Israel, are an “endangered species,” and asserted that “much more should be done to help them [and] to save them” by the Western world.

7. India’s Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is set to make a high-level visit to Israel next month, in the first Home Minister visit since a 2000 trip that began resurgent bilateral ties — the visit comes after India last month approved a $144 million missile purchase from Israel.

8. Two attacks in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula killed 33 security personnel on Friday in some of the worst anti-state violence since Islamist President Mohamed Morsi was overthrown last year.

10. The IDF is closely monitoring military activity by Lebanese terror group Hezbollah along Israel’s northern border, and soldiers are combing the area in search of underground tunnels which may be used by the extremist Shiite group in order to carry out deadly cross-border attacks.

The Bible says in Matthew 25:31-33: “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.”

Our Second Coming quote for today is from C.S. Lewis. He said: “Precisely because we cannot predict the moment, we must be ready at all moments.”

2. Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon says that a future map of the Middle East will look very different than the one that exists today. The prophetic passage of Scripture we are looking at today is Genesis 7:4 which reads: “For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.”

Our second coming quote for today is from Vance Havner. He said, “When I studied arithmetic, I remembered that the answers were in the back of the book. No matter how I floundered among my problems, the correct solution was on the last page. I have failed often in working out life’s problems, and I dwell in the midst of a people who are hopelessly trying to untangle the riddle of this present age. But I am cheered by one unfailing uncertainty — there is a Book that solves the enigma, and the answer is in the back of the Book: ‘Behold I come quickly.’ ‘Even so, come, Lord Jesus.’”
