Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 5 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #710)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #710.

My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ gave them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the Coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,471,152 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 63,396,852 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to the Guardian, A senior Iranian security official has accused Israel of using “electronic devices” to carry out a remote assassination of Iran’s top nuclear scientist. Ali Shamkhani [AH-LEE SHAHM-KAH-NEE], the secretary of the country’s supreme national security council, made the comments at the funeral for Mohsen Fakhrizadeh [MO-SEHN FAHK-REE-ZAH-DEH]. He told Iranian media, “The operation was very complex and took place using electronic devices, and no one was present at the scene.” He blamed Israel, which has not commented on the killing, and said an Iranian opposition group in exile, called Mujahedeen-e-Khalq [MOO-JAA-HUH-DEEN EE KHALK], had also played a role. He did not provide evidence to back up the claims.

Third, today, under the Sign category of INCREASED VIOLENCE ‘AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH’ — According to BBC News, More than 43 people have been killed in what the Nigerian president has described as an “insane” attack in north-east Nigeria on Saturday. The attackers tied up agricultural labourers working in rice fields and slit their throats near Maiduguri [MY-DU-GU-REE], the capital of Borno state, reports say. This is one of the worst attacks in recent months in a region where the Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa insurgent groups are active. No one has yet claimed responsibility.

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 5: Significance of Good Works, Part 3” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

Now, this doesn’t mean that the thought of heavenly rewards should be our motivation for serving Christ. Rather, we should be motivated by our love. But at the same time, we should recognize and act on Jesus’ challenge to invest wisely in eternity.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The symbolism in Christ’s parables is interesting. Jesus compares Himself to a landowner or even a king who went on a long journey and, after a great while (almost 2000 years so far), returned–at which time he demanded his servants give an accounting and then gave rewards according to their faithfulness, talent, and time spent in labor.

A formula for such a reward might look like this: Our talent multiplied by our productive sharing of the gospel, multiplied by the amount of time we had after our salvation to labor, will equal our reward. God keeps a record of our works. He knows what ability we have to serve Him, and He will hold us accountable for how we use our talents and time in his service. Fortunately, He is a just God and will treat each believer “according to what he has done”, based on his or her natural ability.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. It is a collection of what he called “prophetic tracts” that focus on the believer’s duty in light of the signs which point to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 10). J.C. Ryle writes:

But though Israel has been “scattered,” Israel has not been destroyed. For eighteen hundred years the Jews have continued a separate people, without a king, without a land, without a territory, but never lost, never absorbed among other nations.–They have been often trampled under foot, but never shaken from the faith of their fathers.–They have been often persecuted, but never destroyed. At this very moment they are as distinct and peculiar a people as any people upon earth, an unanswerable argument in the way of the infidel, a puzzling difficulty in the way of politicians, a standing lesson to all the world. Romans, Danes, Saxons, Normans, Belgians, French, Germans, have all in turn settled on English soil. All have in turn lost their national distinctiveness. All have in turn become part and parcel of the English nation, after the lapse of a few hundred years. But it has never been so with the Jews. Dispersed as they are, there is a principle of cohesion among them which no circumstances have been able to melt. Scattered as they are, there is a national vitality among them which is stronger than that of any nation on earth. Go where you will, you always find them. Settle where you please, in hot countries or in cold, you will find the Jews. But go where you will, and settle where you please, this wonderful people is always the same. Scattered as they are, few in number compared to those among whom they live, the Jews are always the Jews. Three thousand years ago Balaam said, “The people shall dwell alone, and not be reckoned among the nations.” Eighteen hundred years ago our Lord said, “This generation shall not pass away till all be fulfilled.” We see these words made good before our eyes.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the Return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. Here is how:

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…” Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here is the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.

Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 4 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #709)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #709.

My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 59,192,123 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to BBC News, A barrage of rockets has hit residential areas of Kabul, killing at least eight people and wounding more than 30. The interior ministry said more than a dozen rockets were fired from a pickup truck inside the city. The regional Islamic State group said it was behind it. The attack happened hours before a meeting between US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Taliban negotiators in an effort to resume peace talks. Earlier this week, the outgoing Trump administration announced plans to withdraw 2,000 troops from Afghanistan by mid-January. Many analysts fear the Afghan army is not strong enough to fight on its own if violence continues after foreign troops have left.

Third, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to the Jerusalem Post, Prominent Pakistani journalist Mubasher Lucman [MU-BAH-SHER LUK-MAN] believes that Saudi Arabia is one of the countries pressuring Islamabad into recognizing Israel. Lucman’s [LUK-MAN] statement follows Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement that Islamabad has been placed “under pressure” by the United States, and other unnamed countries, to recognize Israel. Lucman [LUK-MAN] told i24: “I have no doubt that in my analysis that the other country he is talking about is Saudi Arabia, and no one else. There are only four countries that could have said this: One is the United States, second is Israel, third is India and fourth is Saudi Arabia. There is no fifth country that has that kind of influence over [Pakistan].”

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 4: Significance of Good Works, Part 2” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

A number of stories in the Bible illustrate the varying level of rewards that will be handed out. The parable of Luke 19:11-27 explains that Jesus expects a certain quantity of works relative to what has been entrusted to us. It tells of a nobleman who gave an equal amount of money to his servants to invest while he was away. When he returned, he found that one servant had increased the nobleman’s original investment by ten times. The nobleman was very pleased and made the servant ruler over ten cities. Another servant increased the nobleman’s money by five times and was given charge over five cities. This illustration demonstrates that our rewards will be proportionate to the degree we have used our God-given opportunities to serve Him. All Christians should understand that God expects results from our lives.

Another parable, found in Matthew 25:14-30, tells of a master who gave five talents to one servant and two to another. The servant with five talents earned five more, while the one with two earned two more. In this case, both servants received the same reward because they both made good use of what had been given to them. Likewise, God will hold us accountable for using what talents, abilities, and opportunities He has given us for His service. Fortunately, we have a just God who will treat each believer according to his or her natural abilities. More will be expected from those of higher privilege. “To whom much is given, from him much will be required”.

Ryle. This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 9). J.C. Ryle writes:

II. The second point in the text on which I proposed to dwell, is the present condition of Israel.

The expression used by Jeremiah describes exactly the state in which the Jews are at this day, and have been for nearly eighteen hundred years. They are a “scattered” people. The armies of Assyria, Babylon, and Rome, have, one after another, swept over the land of Israel, and carried its inhabitants into captivity. Few, if any, of the ten tribes appear to have returned from the Assyrian captivity. Not fifty thousand of Judah and Benjamin came back from the captivity of Babylon. From the last and worst captivity, when the temple was burned, and Jerusalem destroyed, there has been no return at all. For eighteen hundred years Israel has been dispersed over the four quarters of the globe. Like the wreck of some goodly ship, the Jews have been tossed to and fro on all waters, and stranded in broken pieces on every shore.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 55,472,374 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to BBC News, President Donald Trump reportedly asked senior advisers last Thursday about potential options for attacking Iran’s main nuclear site. The advisers warned him that military action could spark a broader conflict. The White House has not commented on the accounts of the meeting. It took place a day after the global nuclear watchdog said Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile was 12 times what was permitted under a 2015 nuclear deal. US officials familiar with the meeting said the president had asked to be briefed about the options for a strike on Iran’s main nuclear site. The advisers argued that military action could lead to a broader conflict in the region in the last weeks of his presidency. Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei [RAY-BEE] warned on Tuesday “any action against the Iranian nation would certainly face a crushing response”.

Third, today, under the Sign category of ARAB HOSTILITY TOWARD ISRAEL — According to the Jerusalem Post, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said over the weekend that Pakistan faced pressure from another country to establish diplomatic ties with Israel. He said in a local television interview, “I have no second thoughts about [not] recognizing Israel unless there is a just settlement that satisfies Palestinians.” He refused to name the country or countries that have been pressuring him, saying: “There are things we cannot say. We have good relations with them.” Khan’s comments come after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain normalized ties with Israel in recent months. Pakistan has strong economic ties with Gulf states such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which has been warming to Israel in recent years.

Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 3: Significance of Good Works, Part 1” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

What exactly is a good work? A good work is anything a Christian does for Jesus Christ, such as witnessing, worshiping, being generous, and the like. Jesus made it clear that nothing is too small to be considered a good work. Matthew 10:42 reveals that even giving a cup of cold water to a child would result in divine compensation. Good works performed with impure motives, however, will not be rewarded.

When it comes to good works, as 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 indicates the foundation of Jesus Christ must first be in place. This means that no one can accumulate good works until he has accepted salvation through Christ. Once that occurs, a person can build on that foundation with works represented by “gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw.” These works will be tested by fire. The metals and precious stones represent good works performed with right motives. They will survive the test of fire and be rewarded. The wood, hay, and straw represent bad works and will not survive the test. These include good works performed with bad motives, a hidden agenda, or unconfessed sin in one’s life.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.

Accept a friendly exhortation this day. Cleave to the literal sense of Bible words, and beware of departing from it, except in cases of absolute necessity. Beware of that system of allegorizing, and spiritualizing, and accommodating, which the school of Origen first brought in, and which has found such an unfortunate degree of favour in the Church. In reading the authorized version of the English Bible, do not put too much confidence in the “headings” of pages and “tables of contents” at beginnings of chapters, which I take leave to consider a most unhappy accompaniment of that admirable translation. Remember that those headings and tables of contents were drawn up by uninspired hands. In reading the Prophets, they are sometimes not helps, but real hindrances, and less likely to assist a reader than to lead him astray. Settle it in your mind, in reading the Psalms and Prophets that Israel means Israel, and Zion Zion, and Jerusalem Jerusalem. And, finally, whatever edification you derive from applying to your own soul the words which God addresses to His ancient people, never lose sight of the primary sense of the text.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 2 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #707)

In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 50,913,451 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of HOSTILITY TO ISRAEL — According to the Jerusalem Post, A draft UN resolution speaking of the Temple Mount solely as an Islamic holy site, by referencing it only by its Muslim name of al-Ha-ram al-Sha-rif, was approved by 138 member states at the General Assembly last week. It was one of seven pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel resolutions that the General Assembly’s Fourth Committee in New York has passed in the past week. The exclusively Muslim reference in the text to the Temple Mount, the location of the ancient Jewish Temple and the holiest site in Judaism, is viewed as an attempt by UN member states to delegitimize and erase that well-known history. Gil-ad Er-dan, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, called the passage in the text “a disgrace,” adding that “no resolution passed here will change the eternal connection between the Jewish people and the holiest site of our faith – Har Ha-Bay-it, the Temple Mount.”

Third, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to Reuters, Malawi said on Tuesday it will open a full embassy to Israel in Jerusalem, becoming the first African nation in decades to do so in the contested city. In a video statement during a visit to Israel, Malawi Foreign Minister Eisenhower Mkaka [MM-KA-KA] called the decision a “bold and significant step”. He congratulated Israel on its budding relations with Arab and Muslim states under U.S.-brokered deals, including new ties with African country Sudan, that Israel has hailed as marking the start of a “new era” in the region.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge, Part 2: The Judgment Seat of Christ” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

This judgment of our works will determine our position of service during the Millennium and may affect our status in heaven throughout eternity. This judgment of believers, which takes place at the judgment seat (Greek, bema) of Christ in heaven following the rapture, is a time of reward and is not to be confused with the Great White Throne Judgment of unbelievers. The apostle Paul describes the bema seat judgment of believers:

No other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

While the unsaved world is experiencing the horrendous seven-year Tribulation period on earth, believers will be standing before their Lord in judgment to receive rewards based on their good works. It should be noted that only believers will experience this judgment, and at no time will their eternal salvation be in jeopardy. Our eternal destiny is secure, In contrast, all unbelievers will stand before the Great White Throne Judgment at the end of the Millennium, during which their eternal destiny will be determined by their works. Because their works cannot save them, all of them will be cast into the lake of fire.

Ryle. This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 7). J.C. Ryle writes:

I leave this part of my subject here. I am sure that its importance cannot be overrated. In fact, a right understanding of it lies at the very root of the whole Jewish subject, and of the prophecies concerning the Jews. The duty which Christians owe to Israel, as a nation, will never be clearly understood until Christians clearly see the place that Israel occupies in Scripture.

Before going any further, I will ask all readers of this address one plain practical question. I ask you to consider calmly what sense you put on such words as “Israel,” :Jacob,” and the like, when you meet with them in the Psalms and Prophecies of the Old Testament? We live in a day when there are many Bible readers. There are many who search the Scriptures regularly, and read through the Psalms and the Prophets once, if not twice, every year they live. Of course you attach some meaning to the words I have just referred to. You place some sense upon them. Now what is that sense? What is that meaning? Take heed that it is the right one.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

Christ Will Be Our Judge (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #706)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #706.

First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,210,335 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 47,235,585 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERS PLACES — According to CNN, The powerful earthquake that hit the Ae-gean Sea on Friday has killed 79 people in Turkey. Two people also died on the Greek island of Sa-mos, Greek authorities said. Rescue efforts to find any remaining survivors under the wreckage of buildings in the city of Iz-mir, in western Turkey, have continued into a third day. Health Minister Fah-ret-tin Ko-ca said Sunday there was “no clear number on how many people are still under rubble. Hard to give a number. There is an estimation, but I cannot share.” A total of 20 buildings were seriously damaged in Iz-mir by the tremor. The country’s disaster agency said at least 962 people have been injured in Turkey, 219 of whom are still being treated at hospitals.

Third, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to BBC News, South Sudan’s health ministry has announced an outbreak of polio in five regional states of the country. The new outbreak is that of vaccine-derived virus that is linked to low immunisation rates. In June, the World Health Organization Africa Region declared South Sudan free of the wild polio virus. The new cases were spotted after the first sample turned positive last month. Dr John Ru-mu-nu, a ministry official, said, “This polio outbreak is vaccine-derived and it is not wild polio virus. As of now, we have 15 circulating cases reported in five states.”

Our topic for today is titled “Christ Will Be Our Judge” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

First Corinthians 4:5 tells us to “judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts.” This clearly says that the Lord will judge us at His coming. Many Christians have been lulled into a false state of complacency regarding this judgment. Some think there is no call on their lives to serve the Lord. Consequently, they accept His salvation as a gift and do nothing to advance His kingdom. If Christians truly understood the eternal significance of good works, they would radically alter their lifestyle.

By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Although we are indeed saved by grace and not by our works, the Lord still expects us to do good works for Him once we are saved. In fact, we will be rewarded in the life to come in direct proportion to the way in which we have served Him. “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 6). J.C. Ryle writes:

Where, I would venture to ask, in the whole New Testament, shall we find any plain authority for applying the word “Israel” to any one but the nation Israel? I can find none. On the contrary, I observe that when the Apostle Paul quotes Old Testament prophecies about the privileges of the Gentiles in Gospel times, he is careful to quote texts which specially mention the “Gentiles” by name. The fifteenth chapter of the Epistle to the Romans is a striking illustration of what I mean. We are often told in the New Testament that, under the Gospel, believing Gentiles are “fellow-heirs and partakers of the same hope” with believing Jews. But that believing Gentiles may be called “Israelites,” I cannot see anywhere at all.

To what may we attribute that loose system of interpreting the language of the Psalms and Prophets, and the extravangant expectations of universal conversion of the world by the preaching of the Gospel, which may be observed in many Christian writers? To nothing so much, I believe, as to the habit of inaccurately interpreting the word “Israel,” and to the consequent application of promises to the Gentile Churches, with which they have nothing to do. The least errors in theology always bear fruit. Never does man take up an incorrect principle of interpreting Scripture without that principle entailing awkward consequences, and colouring the whole tone of his religion.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

The Believer’s Rewards (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #705)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #705.

First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,164,047 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 43,822,245 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to BBC News, Sudan is to normalise relations with Israel – the latest in a series of Arab League countries to do so. At the same time, US President Donald Trump has removed Sudan from the US list of state sponsors of terrorism, unblocking economic aid and investment. Announcing the normalisation, Mr Trump said “at least five more” Arab states wanted a peace deal with Israel. The Sudan deal comes weeks after similar moves by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. The two Gulf states became the first in the Middle East to recognise Israel in 26 years. The UAE’s foreign ministry said it welcomed Sudan’s decision, calling it “an important step to boost security and prosperity in the region.” Sudan and Israel said in a three-way statement with the US that delegations would meet “in the coming weeks”. It said, “The leaders agreed to the normalisation of relations between Sudan and Israel and to end the state of belligerence between their nations.”

Third, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Ynet News, An Islamic State spokesman called on the militant group’s supporters to target oil pipelines and economic infrastructure in Saudi Arabia over the Gulf state’s ties with Israel. The group’s spokesman said in a recorded speech, “Targets are plenty … Start by hitting and destroying oil pipelines, factories and facilities which are the source (of income) of the tyrant government.” He said the kingdom had supported normalization with Israel by opening its airspace for Israeli flights to neighbouring Gulf states. The threats surfaced as Bahrain has followed the United Arab Emirates in agreeing last month to normalize ties with Israel. Saudi Arabia, which has Islam’s holiest sites and is the world’s largest oil exporter, has stressed the need to step up efforts to reach a lasting and sustainable peace agreement among the Palestinians and the Israelis. On Thursday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Fai-sal bin Far-han Al Saud stressed the kingdom’s support for the Arab Peace Initiative, drawn up by Saudi Arabia in 2002, in which Arab nations offered Israel normalized ties in return for a statehood deal with the Palestinians and full Israeli withdrawal from territory captured in 1967.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “The Believer’s Rewards” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

For the Bible-believing Christian, the second coming of Christ is one of the most eagerly anticipated events prophesied in the Bible. It’s hard not to get excited!

The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

We all have friends and loved ones who have passed on and with whom we long to be reunited. As ecstatic as that experience will be, it will be eclipsed by our first meeting with the very Lord who died for us, forgave us, saved us, guided us through life, and resurrected us. Words will not be able to adequately express the joy of that moment.

What tends to get overlooked in all this is that immediately following the rapture, we will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account of our actions while on earth.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic in our next podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and I to do in light of His Second Coming.

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 5). J.C. Ryle writes:

I do not deny that Israel was a peculiar typical people, and that God’s relations to Israel were meant to be a type of His relations to His believing people all over world.

I do not forget that it is written, “As face answereth to face, so does the heart of man to man,” and that whatever spiritual truths are taught in prophecy concerning Israelitish hearts, are applicable to the hearts of Gentiles.

I would have it most distinctly understood that God’s dealings with individual Jews and Gentiles are precisely one and the same. Without repentance, faith in Christ, and holiness of heart, no individual Jew or Gentile shall ever be saved.

What I protest against is, the habit of allegorizing plain sayings of the Word of God concerning the future history of the nation Israel, and explaining away the fulness of their contents in order to accommodate them to the Gentile Church. I believe the habit to be unwarranted by anything in Scripture, and to draw after it a long train of evil consequences.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 40,489,201 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to Israel 365 News, A recent report cites senior French diplomats as saying that the Trump-negotiated Abraham Accords have changed the political reality in the Middle East, opening up the possibility of a negotiated reconciliation between Israel and the Palestinians that does not necessarily require the creation of an independent Palestinian entity inside Israel. A report in Hebrew-language Maariv [MAH-AH-REEV] News cited diplomatic sources in Paris as saying, “France is updating its position on the Israeli-Palestinian issue.” Eric Danon, the French Ambassador to Israel went on to say, “We can accept any solution that the Palestinians and Israelis agree on. We will not negotiate on behalf of the Palestinians. This is a bilateral question and we say that a new situation that has arisen must be taken into account and returned to the negotiating table.” He added, “Six months ago, no one could have imagined that Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain would sign the Abrahamic Accords. The Middle East has completely changed because of the position of the United States, Iran, and Turkey, because Israel has become a new regional power and because of the fatigue of the Palestinian question.” Maariv [MAH-AH-REEV] cited a diplomatic observer in Paris as saying that “there is a move in the French position towards the US position”.

Third, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to American Military News, Chinese leader Xi Jinping [SHEE JEEN-PEENG] called on Chinese troops to “put all (their) minds and energy on preparing for war” during a visit to a military base in the southern province of Guangdong [GWAHNG-DOONG] on Tuesday. According to the Chinese state-run Xinhua [SHIN-HWA] news agency, Xi [SHEE] told People’s Liberation Army Marine Corps troops stationed in Chaozhou [CHOU-ZHOH] City to “maintain a state of high alert.”The Chinese news agency also reported Xi [SHEE] called on the troops to increasingly train for actual combat capabilities. Xi’s [SHEE] remarks come amid increased tensions between the U.S. and China. China has increasingly sought to exercise control over the South China Sea and has made increased gestures against Taiwan.

8. Then we who are alive and remain will be changed. Our corruptible bodies will be made immortal.

9. We will be caught up (raptured) together.

10. Dead and living believers will have a monumental reunion with the Lord in the clouds.

11. Christ will receive us to Himself and take us to the Father’s house to be with Him.

12. “And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

13. We will stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

14. We will participate in the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Now, why do I dwell upon this point? To some readers it may appear mere waste of time and words to say so much about it. The things I have been saying sound to them like truisms. That Israel means Israel is a matter on which they never felt a doubt. If this be the mind of any into whose hands this address has fallen, I am thankful for it. But unhappily there are many Christians who do not see the subject with your eyes. For their sakes I must dwell on this point a little longer.

For many centuries there has prevailed in the Churches of Christ a strange, and to my mind, an unwarrantable mode of dealing with this word “Israel.” It has been interpreted in many passages of the Psalms and Prophets, as if it meant nothing more than Christian believers. Have promises been held out to Israel? Men have been told continually that they are addressed to Gentile saints.–Have glorious things been described as laid up in store for Israel? Men have incessantly told that they describe the victories and triumphs of the Gospel in Christian Churches.–The proofs of these things are too many to require quotation. No man can read the immense majority of commentaries and popular hymns without seeing this system of interpretation to which I now refer. Against that system I have long protested, and I hope I shall always protest as long as I live.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

The Chronology of the Rapture, Part 1 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #703)

In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 37,801,526 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL — According to Arab News, Israel has signed an aviation agreement with Jordan that will allow flights from the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain to fly through Israeli airspace, it said on Thursday. Israel’s Transportation Ministry said the deal had been discussed for years, but the neighbors were only able to finalize it after Israel and the two Gulf Arab states signed a historic agreement last month to normalize ties. Jordanian officials had no immediate comment. With commercial planes now able to fly through the Israel-Jordan corridor, flight times for some routes between Asia and Europe and North America, including flights from Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, will be shorter, the Israeli ministry said. Its statement did not specify any other countries that could benefit from the new arrangement.

Third, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to the Jerusalem Post, At least four people have died in an explosion that rocked Beirut’s [BAY-ROOT] Tariq al-Jadideh [TAH-REEK AL-JAH-DAY-DAH] neighborhood. According to the Lebanese Daily Star, the deadly blast was the result of a diesel tank explosion in a local bakery. Initial reports placed the number of dead at two with multiple casualties. Citing Lebanese channel Al-Jadid [AL-JAH-DEED], the Russian RIA Novosti [NO-VOS-TEE] agency reported that at least 50 were injured in the explosion. Contrary to the Daily Star’s report, RIA reports the explosion took place in a warehouse storing generator fuel. Video footage from the scene shows significant damage caused to the area surrounding the explosion’s epicenter as debris is seen scattered throughout the street leading to the area of the blast, with people once again feared to be trapped under the rubble.

If we assemble New Testament references to the rapture in chronological order, this is what we find.

1. The Lord Himself will descend from His Father’s house, where He is preparing a place for us.

2. He will receive us to Himself.

3. He will bring deceased believers with Him.

4. The Lord will shout as He descends. All this takes place in the “twinkling of an eye”.

5. We will hear the voice of the archangel.

6. We will also hear the trumpet call of God. Don’t confuse this with the seventh trumpet of judgment on the world during the Tribulation in Revelation 11:15.

7. The dead in Christ will rise first. The corruptible ashes of their dead bodies will be made incorruptible and be joined together with their spirits.

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 3). J.C. Ryle writes:

There are four points on which I purpose to dwell, in considering the words of Jeremiah which stand at the head of this address.

I. The meaning of the word Israel, both here and elsewhere in Scripture.
II. The present condition of Israel.
III. The future prospects of Israel.
IV. The duty which Gentile Churches owe to Israel.

I. The meaning of the word “Israel.”
The definition of terms is of first importance in theology. Unless we explain the meaning of the words we use in our religious statements, our arguments are often wasted, and we seem like men beating the air.

The word “Israel” is used nearly seven hundred times in the Bible. I can only discover three senses in which it is used. First,–It is one of the names of Jacob, the father of the twelve tribes; a name specially given to him by God. Secondly,–It is a name given to the ten tribes which separated from Judah and Benjamin in the days of Rehoboam, and became a distinct kingdom. This kingdom is often called Israel, in contradistinction to the kingdom of Judah. Thirdly and lastly,–It is a name given to the whole Jewish nation, to all members of the twelve tribes which sprung from Jacob, and were brought out of Egypt into the land of Canaan. This is by far the most commn signification of the word in the Bible. It is the only signification in which I can find the word “Israel” used throughout the whole New Testament. It is the same in which the word is used in the text which I am considering this day. That Israel, which God has scattered and will yet gather again, is the whole Jewish nation.

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

Two Phases of the Second Coming, Part 7 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #702)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #702.

First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,045,206 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 35,547,863 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of THE RISE OF GOG AND MAGOG — According to Bloomberg, a new report claims Russia’s military is now more capable than at any time since the end of the Cold War, a development that comes as Western nations are increasingly concerned about President Vladimir Putin’s role in election meddling and conflicts from Ukraine to Syria. According to “Russia’s Military Modernization: An Assessment,” a report published on Wednesday by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies, after more than a decade of investment and reform, Russia’s troops are better equipped and more professional than their predecessors. The report says, “Russia’s armed forces are today a capable military tool that Moscow has demonstrated a willingness to use or to threaten the use of.” Russia began its current military modernization drive after its armed forces’ poor performance in the country’s brief war with Georgia in 2008. It highlights particular improvements in Russia’s nuclear weaponry and in the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as patchier progress in Russia’s ground forces and navy.

Third, today, under the Sign category of FAMINES — According to the Wall Street Journal, a food crisis is worsening around the world as the coronavirus pandemic drags on. Arif Husain [AA-REEF HU-SANE], chief economist at the United Nations World Food Programme, said the pandemic has doubled the number of people who are acutely food insecure from 135 million people in 2019 to 270 million. Mr. Husain [HU-SANE] said, “We have hunger going up, we have poverty going up, we have unemployment going up, we have incomes going down, and we have prices going up. All of this put together means that lots and lots of people in this world can no longer afford a decent meal.” Mr. Husain [HU-SANE] said the world hasn’t seen such a shock to both food supplies and food demand on a global scale in the past century. The pandemic arrived at a time of bountiful harvests and ample food supplies, but trade disruptions and breakdowns in processing and transportation have left millions of people hungry in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.

Our topic for today is titled “Two Phases of the Second Coming, Part 7” from Tim LaHaye and Ed Hindson’s book “The Essential Guide to Bible Prophecy.”

One of the chief characteristics of the rapture is that it will be sudden and will catch people by surprise. “Of that day and hour no one knows,” which is why Jesus warns us, “Be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect.” Only a pretribulation rapture preserves the expectation of His coming at any moment. Indeed, the rapture has appeared imminent to Christians of every generation throughout the ages. Nothing could better motivate us to holy living and fervent evangelism than to recognize that Jesus could come today. And one day He will! The trumpet will sound, the archangel will shout, and we will all go home to be with Jesus.

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 2). J.C. Ryle writes:

I ask your serious attention for a few minutes, while I try to place the Jewish subject before you in a connected and condensed form. I propose in this address to show you from Scripture the past, the present, and the future of Israel. I know few texts in the Bible which contain such a complete summary of the subject as the one before you. This text I shall endeavour to unfold.

I entreat you not to dismiss the subject as speculative, fanciful, and unprofitable. The world is growing old. The last days are come upon us. The foundations of the earth are out of course. The ancient institutions of society are wearing out and going to pieces. The end of all things is at hand. Surely it becomes a wise man, at a time like this, to turn to the pages of prophecy, and to inquire what is yet to come. At a time like this the declarations of God concerning His people Israel ought to be carefully weighed and examined. “At the time of the end,” says Daniel, “the wise shall understand.”

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

Two Phases of the Second Coming, Part 6 (The Prophet Daniel’s Report #701)

Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #701.

First, today, under the Sign category of PESTILENCES & FATAL EPIDEMIC DISEASES — According to a Johns Hopkins University tally, the global death toll attributed to the novel coronavirus hit 1,003,791 early Tuesday. In the seven months since the virus was first identified in Wuhan [WOO-HAHN], China, it has infected at least 33,469,217 people worldwide.

Second, today, under the Sign category of TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST — According to The Jerusalem Post, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Israel has not ruled out a preemptive strike against Iran, during a memorial service on Tuesday for those who fell in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Netanyahu said, “A preemptive strike is a difficult thing to do. I know that if Iran wants to base itself in the North, we are ready to fight them. This is a direct lesson of the Yom Kippur War. We will do everything in order to protect the State of Israel; we are not ruling out a preliminary strike.” He added, “This is the power on our side.” It is “the power that brought peace with Jordan, Egypt, agreements with the UAE and Bahrain. The power that will bring peace with additional states. The power and perseverance will allow us to handle the coronavirus crisis.” Alluding to Israel’s lack of preparedness at the time of the Yom Kippur War, President Reuven Rivlin cautioned that “we must always be alert to danger” and do something about threats before they become a reality.

Third, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMOURS OF WARS — According to SpaceWar.com, Germany’s point man on transatlantic ties said Europe and the United States need to face up to a “new Cold War with China” together, regardless of who wins the White House in November. With just five weeks to go until the US election, the German government’s coordinator for relations with the United States and Canada, Peter Beyer, insisted there were more shared interests than differences. Beyer said, “Europe has got to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the US to face the huge challenge of China. The new Cold War between the United States and China has already begun and will shape this century.”

If the church is raptured at the end of the Tribulation, there will be no one left to repopulate the earth during the Millennium. Just before the Millennium begins, all those who survive the Tribulation but reject Jesus Christ as Savior will be cast into hell. If the rapture occurred at the end of the Tribulation, as some believe it will, all Christians would be taken from the earth as well, leaving no one on earth with a natural body to repopulate the planet during the Millennium. We know from numerous Old Testament passages and Revelation 20:7-10 that there will be a huge population explosion during the Millennium. Where do these people come from? The answer is that those who miss the rapture and become believers during the Tribulation (thanks to the preaching of the 144,000 Jews and the two witnesses) and survive to the end will repopulate the earth. Large numbers of believers will be martyred during the Tribulation, but some will survive. These people will not be raptured at the end of the Tribulation in some sort of post-tribulational rapture. Rather, they will enter Christ’s millennial kingdom with their natural bodies to populate that kingdom. In order for this to be possible, the rapture must take place prior to the Tribulation instead of at the end of it.

This section is titled, “Scattered Israel to be Gathered” (Part 1). J.C. Ryle writes:

“Hear the Word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.” –Jeremiah 33:10

The text which heads this page is singularly full and comprehensive. It contains both history and prophecy. It speaks of the scattering of Israel; this is history. It speaks of the gathering of Israel; this is prophecy. It demands the attention both of the Jew and the Gentile. To the Jew it holds out a hope:–“Israel,” it says, “shall be gathered.” On the Gentile it lays a command:–“Hear the Word of the Lord,” it says, “O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, He that scattered Israel will gather him.”

Reader, the whole body of Gentile Chistendom is specially addressed in this text. There is no evading this conclusion on any fair interpretation of Scripture. We ourselves are among the “nations” to whom Jeremiah speaks. Upon us devolves a portion of the duty which he here sets forth. The text is the Lord’s voice to all the Churches of Christ among the Gentiles. It is a voice to the Churches of England, Scotland, and Ireland. It is a voice to the Churches of Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Holland, Denmark, and America. It is a voice to all Christendom. And what does the voice say? It bids us proclaim far and wide the will of God concerning the Jewish nation. It bids us keep one another in memory of God’s past and future dealings with Israel. “He that scattered Israel will gather him.”

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
